COUNTDOWN.

Endeavour’s projects change as each cohort raises the technical ceiling. The thread connecting them is constant: students owning difficult engineering work, testing it in the real world and passing the evidence forward.

012019–20

FOUNDING YEAR

Darwin I begins

Endeavour was founded around hands-on model rocketry and its first competition vehicle. Darwin I targeted the 3 km category at Spaceport America, but construction was never completed as the pandemic interrupted the programme.

022020–21

THE DARWIN LINE CONTINUES

Darwin II targets EuRoC

The second Darwin vehicle took aim at the European Rocketry Challenge. It did not launch after its recovery system activated on the rail, turning the campaign into an early lesson in integration and launch operations.

032021–22

FIRST COMPETITION FLIGHT

Darwin III flies at EuRoC

Darwin III carried Endeavour into flight at EuRoC. The ascent succeeded, while the rapid descent made recovery the defining engineering challenge for the next generation of vehicles.

042022–23

TWO PROGRAMMES

ADA-I and MiniMaxwell

ADA-I flew at Mach-23 and achieved partial recovery, although its payload was not recovered. MiniMaxwell and the first test-stand effort entered Race 2 Space; they did not fire, but received the Grit and Determination award.

052023–24

LIQUID FIRE

WeeMaxwell breaks through

After the Fulmair Spaceport America entry was withdrawn, WeeMaxwell delivered Endeavour’s first sustained bipropellant firing: about 550 N for 24–26 seconds. The project won the Race 2 Space bipropellant category and accelerated plans to integrate propulsion and flight vehicles.

062024–25

TEST, FIRE, RECOVER

ADA-II, MAX and ASIMOV

ADA-II reached Mach-25 but remained unflown after weather and integration difficulties, while earning the Outreach Award. MAX fired twice at Race 2 Space. Across five ASIMOV launches, Endeavour achieved its first live SRAD telemetry, full dual-deployment recovery and payload recovery.

072025–26

COMPLETE MISSIONS

Gemini and Shredder

Gemini attempted Endeavour’s first two-stage competition mission at Mach-26 and recovered both vehicle and payload. Shredder then won Launch 4 Change, reaching 4.2 km and Mach 1.16 with live telemetry, video and an independently deployed spectropolarimeter payload.
